The Teams and Events at Capital One Arena

Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. is home to three major professional sports teams: the Washington Wizards (NBA basketball), the Washington Capitals (NHL hockey), and the Washington Mystics (WNBA basketball). The arena also hosts concerts, wrestling events, college sports, and other live entertainment throughout the year. The specific events and performers change with the season and the arena's booking schedule.

Washington Wizards Basketball Schedule

The Washington Wizards play their NBA home games at Capital One Arena from October through April during the regular season, with potential playoff games extending into May or June depending on their performance. The Wizards typically play 41 home games per season, though the exact number can vary year to year.

Wizards games are among the most frequently scheduled events at the arena. You can find their full schedule on the official NBA website or the Wizards' team site, which shows dates, opponents, and ticket information for each home game.

Washington Capitals Hockey Schedule

The Washington Capitals play their NHL home games at Capital One Arena from October through April during the regular season, with playoff games potentially running into May or June. Like the Wizards, the Capitals typically play 41 home games per season.

Concerts and Entertainment Events

Beyond sports, Capital One Arena hosts major concerts, comedy shows, professional wrestling events (including WWE), and other live entertainment. These events are booked throughout the year and don't follow a fixed seasonal pattern like the sports teams do.
